Pros -

  • Keeps the presenter organised 
  • Presents material in a legible neat fashion
  • Students can print out slides ahead of time and make notes next to each slide during a lecture

Cons -

  • Important points and information often reduced to bullet points
  • Presenter sometimes just reads from the slides and has little interaction
  • The watchers attention is on the slides rather than the presenter 
  • Little opportunity for intellectual digression as slides are presented in sequence



I found Power-point to be a very basic and straight forward way of doing presentations.  Power-point allows the presenter to create simple slides to get their point across in a quick and efficient manner.


However, having been to a few presentations using power-point, I agree with most people when they say that this makes for a very boring presentation causing your audience to basically switch off and therefore they are at risk of not really learning anything.
